Caldwell County Hammers Lyon 10-0

Caldwell County continued their fast start to the girls’ soccer season with a 10-0 mercy rule win over Lyon County Tuesday at the Butler Stadium.  Caldwell County’s defense, which held Trigg County to four shots in a 7-2 win Monday, did not allow Lyon County to get a shot on goal Tuesday.

Laney Fletcher, Meridan Giannini, and Allissa Traylor each scored two goals in the contest. Taely Freeman, who had two assists Monday, had three more Tuesday. MacKenzie Smiley had a goal and two assists, Matteah Butts had two assists, and the Lady Tigers also got goals from Lucy Goffinet and Sofie Littlefield.

Dru Hadley Thomas played in goal in the first half and later scored a goal in the second half as Katlyn Manley took over in goal.

Caldwell County will host University Heights Academy in an All-A Classic Second Region contest Saturday at 4pm at Butler Stadium.

Lyon County returns to action Thursday at home against Webster County.
