It was a tough loss in more ways than one for the Fort Campbell Falcons Friday night. The Falcons fell to Paducah Tilghman 42-8 on Senior Night, and saw injuries wreak havoc with their roster by the end of the game.

Both teams entered the contest knowing their respective playoff fates. Fort Campbell had been eliminated the previous week in a loss to Caldwell County, while Paducah Tilghman was locked into the #2 seed, win or lose.

Tilghman got on the board first on a 12-yard touchdown run by Makel Askew. Quarterback Malachi scored on runs of 10-yards and 65-yards to give the Blue Tornado a 21-0 halftime lead.

Paducah Tilghman scored two touchdowns in the first three minutes of the second half to push the lead out to 35-0. The second half was marked by a rash of injuries to Fort Campbell players, with three of those players being transported from the stadium by ambulance. There were also several unsportsmanlike penalties as things got a bit contentious on the field.

The big play of the night for the Falcons came when quarterback Julian Roberts scored on a 20-yard run with just under 9 minutes left in the contest to cut the lead to 35-8. Tilghman added the final score of the night on a 77-yard touchdown run less than 3 minutes later.

The Blue Tornado racked up 518 yards of total offense, with 460 of that coming on the ground. The Falcons could generate only 156 total yards on the night.

The Falcons dropped to 2-7 on the season, and 0-4 in the district. Fort Campbell will finish up the season next Friday night at Madisonville.
