In just her second LPGA event as a pro, Princeton’s Emma Talley finds herself tied for third place after the first round of the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open. Talley shot a 4-under-68 at the Adelaide course in South Australia and is three shots behind leader Jin Young Ko. Talley is one of 10 golfers tied for third place.

Talley began her round on the back nine and birdied three holes. She made the turn and bogeyed the par-5 second hole but followed it up with consecutive birdies. She hit 9-of-14 greens and had just 25 putts in the round. She had a chance to birdied her 18th hole for the outright lead but left the putt left for par.

Talley is the 350th ranked player in the world after finishing tied for 60th place at the weather-shortened Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic last month in her pro debut.
