Trigg County experienced another late game scoring drought, and that was enough to see their season come to an end with a 31-26 loss to Livingston Central in the Fifth District Tournament semifinals at Crittenden County Tuesday.

The 31 points allowed by Trigg are the fewest ever allowed by the Lady Wildcats in a district tournament game. However, they failed to reach 30 points in a game for the tenth time this season.

A bucket by Adri Phillips and a free throw by Bethany Stallons tied the game at 24 with 6:46 left. Trigg would get just one bucket the rest of the way, missing six of seven shots and turning the basketball over six times.

Stallons hit a 3-pointer before the halftime horn to give Trigg a 17-13 lead at halftime. Livingston outscored Trigg 11-2 in the third quarter and seemed to take control of the game with a 24-19 lead after three quarters before the Lady Wildcats scored the first five points of the fourth quarter to tie the game.

Neither team shot the ball well – Trigg hit 24% of their shots, and Livingston just 21%. The Lady Cardinals hit 9-of-15 free throws, while Trigg was 2-of-7.

Stallons led Trigg County with nine points, while Phillips had six points and 12 rebounds. Lauren Oliver, the lone Trigg County senior, finished with six points and nine rebounds.

Tabby Padon was the lone Lady Cardinal to reach double figures with 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Trigg County sees their season end with a record of 9-17. The Lady Wildcats have now dropped 46 straight games to Fifth District opponents dating back to 2012.

Livingston Central (14-14) will play Crittenden County Friday for the district title in Marion.
