Sophie Bingham struck out 11 batters, and Calista Collins smacked two doubles and a triple for Lyon County in their 9-4 season-opening win over Paducah Tilghman Monday at Lee S. Jones Park.
Collins got the scoring going in the first inning with an RBI double.
Lyon County scored six runs in the second inning as they had four extra base hits in the frame. Kyra Craft and Kerstin Craft led off with consecutive doubles. Sydney Melton and Collins later followed with triples to cap off the inning.
Collins added another RBI triple in the fourth inning, and Tori Schenk finished off the scoring with a run-scoring double in the sixth inning.
Bingham scattered six hits as Tilghman scored one run in the third, two in the fourth and one in the seventh inning.
Lyon County finished the game with seven hits.
The Lady Lyons (1-0) are scheduled to host Hickman County Tuesday.
