Strong First Inning Sends Lady Wildcats Past UHA

Trigg County sent 17 batters to the plate in the first inning and scored 13 runs on their way to a 21-1 win over University Heights Academy Monday at the Complex.

The Lady Wildcats had 10 hits in the contest, with Madison Simpson totaling two hits and three RBIs including a double. Maggie Snodgrass also had two hits for Trigg County, and Kara Southwood added a double.

Becca Fitzpatrick had the lone hit for UHA, who was playing for only the second time in 17 days. She scored their only run on a hard-hit grounder by Rachael Snyder that was misplayed by the Trigg infield.

UHA (1-7) will play at Caldwell County Thursday.

Trigg County (16-10) will play at Hopkinsville Tuesday.
