Blazers and Maroons Headed to 2018 King of the Bluegrass

It is one of the premiere high school basketball events in the country, and two teams out of the 2nd Region will be playing in it next season. Officials with the King of the Bluegrass, which is hosted at Fairdale High School, in Jefferson County, have announced that both University Heights and Madisonville will be participants in the event.

The Blazers will be led by Mr. Basketball candidate KyKy Tandy, and are coming off a 2nd Region championship. Madisonville finished the 2017-2018 season 21-10. The Maroons had no seniors on their roster and feature one of the state’s top players in Kenny White.

The tournament is played at Fairdale in the days leading up to Christmas. The 2017 event was won by Fern Creek.
