Several local youths fared well at the International Finals Youth Rodeo in Shawnee, Oklahoma – one of the largest high school rodeos in the nation.

Princeton’s Jacob Scheidler just missed making the top 15 in calf roping, which would have qualified him for the finals and a chance to earn prize money.

Scheidler teamed with Kodee Ross of Vienna, Illinois to finish 46th in Team Roping with a time of 13.8 seconds.

Hopkinsville’s Jesse Harris finished 70th in breakaway roping and was 110th in Barrel Racing. Harris competed with Haley Fauste of Cynthiana in Team Roping but did not complete a time and failed to move on to the next round.

Gracey’s Bethany Stallons teamed with Kooper Newton of Dresden, Tennessee to finish 64th in the Team Roping in a time of 27.6 seconds. Stallons also competed in the breakaway roping but did not complete a run.

The IFYR had over 850 rodeo contestants who competed in 1,411 event entries.
