When the UHA Lady Blazers and the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers first met on the volleyball court this season, the Lady Blazers were dominant in picking up a straight set win on their home court. The second meeting was a good bit more of a battle, but again it was the Lady Blazers coming out on top in four sets at Tiger Gym Tuesday night.

UHA was returning to action for the first time since the All A Classic state tournament over the weekend in Richmond, where they went 2-3, falling in the consolation bracket semifinals. Hopkinsville was trying to rebound from a straight set loss last Thursday to Logan County.

The Lady Blazers opened the match like they were going to sweep the Lady Tigers for a second time. UHA cruised through the opening set 25-13.

However, this time the Lady Tigers gave indication that they would not go quietly in this district battle. Hopkinsville came roaring back to take the second set by a score of 25-21 to even the match up at 1 set apiece.

The third set came right down to the wire, with UHA pulling out the win by the score of 25-22. The Lady Blazers were then able to close out the match taking the 4th set, in another tight one, by a score of 25-21, to take the match 3-1.

Meghan Adams and Aisha Pantiere each had 13 kills for the Lady Blazers with Evelyn Morales adding nine.  Beth Peebles 39 assists and four aces.

Hoptown got 15 kills from Karalyn Beymer and 14 more from Sarah Cavanah.  Hope Pace added seven kills and five blocks, and Savannah Peck had 31 assists.

With the win, UHA remains unbeaten in district play, and improves to 14-5 overall. Hopkinsville drops to 3-14 overall, and 2-3 in 8th District play.
