The Henderson County boys’ soccer team made its first ever trip to Trigg County, and wasted no time making themselves comfortable.  Henderson (4-1), ranked 2nd in the YourSportsEdge.com 2nd Region rankings, got their first goal through senior forward Armando Zamarripa about 15 minutes into the match.  Over the next 25 minutes the Colonels would add 4 more, taking a 5-0 lead into halftime.

Trigg (2-2), ranked 6th, were woeful in the first half, but put up stiffer resistance in the second half, with senior defender Carter Boyd and sophomore goalkeeper Matthew Smith producing good performances.  However, the Colonels were still able to add a couple more goals late in the game for the final 7-0 score.  The losing margin is the worst loss for the Wildcats since the 2005 season.

Zamarripa had 2 goals for the Colonels, with junior midfielder Max Warwin adding a hat trick.  Freshman forward Cooper Wilson and junior midfielder Eduardo Zeron each had a goal as well.  Matthew Smith had 7 saves in goal for the Wildcats.

Next up for the Wildcats is a district clash at Lyon County (8) (3-1) on August 29th, while the Colonels will host Union County (10) (0-3) on Tuesday as well.
