John Buchanan shot a 34 Tuesday at Western Hills Golf Course.
Christian County golfers John Buchanan and Carson Holmes continued their strong play on the links Tuesday by finishing 1-2 at a tri-match at Western Hills Golf Course. Buchanan shot a 2-under 34, while Holmes added an even par 36 to help the Colonels beat Trigg County by 11 shots and UHA by 37 shots.
Houston George and Micah Smith each carded 49s for the Colonels.
Hunter Reynolds shot a 43 to finish third for Trigg County, who also got 44s from Grayson Thomas and Caleb Federspiel and a 48 from Darrin Goodwin.
Weston Wood led UHA with a 46, while Kendall Doer shot a 47, Jiles Wyatt a 49, and Seth Doer a 63.
Over the weekend, Buchanan shot a 78 and Holmes an 82 at the Hopkins County Central Invitational. UHA’s Wood shot an 83, and Kendall Doer added a 91.
For the ladies, Christian County’s Hannah Sumner shot a 45 to take medalist honors. She was one shot better than teammates Bridget Owens and Jenna Humphries and Trigg County’s Alex Ethridge. UHA’s Rheagan Lindsey shot a 50, followed by Christian County’s Jennalyn Kelly (56), and UHA’s Vallie Smith (69).
