The Lyon County boys’ soccer team traveled to LaCenter to face the Ballard Memorial Bombers Thursday night and came away with an easy 8-1 win. The win is the Lyons’ second straight since a 4-2 loss to 5th District rival Trigg County (3-4).
The Lyons, ranked 6th in the YourSportsEdge.com 2nd Region rankings, once again relied on the scoring prowess of recent YourSportsEdge.com Spotlight Athlete, sophomore Bryson Penn. Penn had a hand in all the goals, tallying 6 goals and 2 assists. Senior defender Max Wadlington and senior forward Austin Duff each added a goal and junior midfielder Trace Adams had 2 assists for the Lyons. Freshman Salvador Coronado picked up an assist as well.
The Lyons move to 5-3 on the season and return to action September 12th with a trip to face the 1-4-1 Mayfield Cardinals.
