Tie – 1. Henderson County Colonels (12-3-2)
Henderson holds on to the top spot, although they’ll share it with Hopkinsville. The Colonels suffered a 4-1 road loss to 9th ranked Daviess County last week, but also picked up a nice 3-0 home win over Bowling Green (6-9). This week the Colonels host Marshall County (8-7-1) and travel to face 10th ranked McCracken County (17-1).
Tie – 1. Hopkinsville Tigers (12-4-1)
The Tigers move back into a share of the top spot after a week that began with a 5-4 home loss to 16th ranked Calloway County (14-2-1). However, over the rest of the week the Tigers seemed to hit their stride, winning 5-1 over visiting South Warren (7-6-4) and 6-0 over Greenwood (4-9-2) on Senior Day. This week the Tigers travel to Trigg County to face the 6-11 Wildcats and wrap up the week with a Thursday trip to Mayfield to play Graves County (9-8).
3. Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons (7-7-1)
The Maroons began the week with a 7-1 home win over University Heights Academy (9-6-2), before splitting 2 games hosting the Donley Classic. Madisonville lost 7-2 to John Hardin (10-4-3) and won 3-2 in a shootout against Spencer County (7-5-2). The Maroons will spend the last week of the regular season on the road, facing Apollo (11-6-1) and Christian County (5-11-3).
4. Webster County Trojans (10-4-1)
The Trojans only had one match last week, dropping a 3-2 contest on the road at Apollo (11-6-1). They travel to Todd County Central (1-13) on Monday and finish the regular season with a home match with Ohio County (7-6).
5. University Heights Academy Blazers (9-6-2)
The Blazers lost 7-1 to Madisonville to start the week, but bounced back with a 10-0 road win at Union County (1-11-1). A 4-1 home loss to Murray followed, before the Blazers closed out the week with 2 wins on Saturday. They won 8-0 over the visiting Mayfield Cardinals (4-12-1) and picked up a forfeit win over Todd County Central (1-13) when the Rebels failed to show for the match. The Blazers finish the regular season with a trip to Morton’s Gap to face the 8-6-1 Hopkins County Central Storm, and a home match against Union County (1-11-1).
6. Fort Campbell Falcons (3-8-1)
The Falcons went 2-2 last week, winning 5-4 at Union County (1-11-1) before falling 4-2 to Paducah Tilghman (8-7-2) on post. A 3-2, last second win over visiting Christian County (5-11-3) followed, with the Falcons ending the week with a 3-1 road loss to Owensboro Catholic (5-10-2). Two home matches remain for the Falcons, with Todd County Central (1-13) and Caldwell County (7-8-1) visiting before post-season play begins.
7. Christian County Colonels (5-11-3)
The Colonels split a pair of games last week, winning 5-2 at home over Lyon County (7-8-1) and losing 3-2 on post against Fort Campbell (3-8-1). The Colonels stay at home for two matches in the last week of the regular season, welcoming Warren East (6-11-1) and Madisonville-North Hopkins (7-7-1) to the Stadium of Champions.
8. Caldwell County Tigers (7-8-1)
The Tigers won both their matches last week, a 3-2 home result against Trigg County (6-11) and a 6-0 road win against the 1-13 Todd County Central Rebels. Remaining for the Tigers are a home match with Union County (1-11-1) and a trip to post to face Fort Campbell (3-8-1).
9. Hopkins County Central Storm (8-6-1)
The Storm moved up 2 spots after picking up 3 wins last week, part of a current 4 game winning streak. The Storm beat Muhlenberg County (1-13-1) and Russellville (1-12), 4-1 and 10-0, respectively. Hopkins Central end their regular season hosting UHA (9-6-2) on Tuesday.
10. Trigg County Wildcats (6-11)
The Wildcats dropped a spot after losing all three of their matches last week, part of a current 5 game losing streak. Trigg began the week with a 1-0 road loss to St. Mary (6-8-2), followed by a 3-2 road loss to Caldwell County (7-8-1). The misery continued on Saturday when the Wildcats traveled to Murray and lost 8-0 to Calloway County (14-2-1), ranked 16th in the most recent state coaches’ poll. Remaining for the Wildcats are a trip to Mayfield to face the 4-12-1 Cardinals, and a home match against the Hopkinsville Tigers (12-4-1).
11. Lyon County Lyons (7-8-1)
Much like Trigg County, the Lyons dropped a spot and are in the midst of a late season slide that has seen them go winless in their last 6 games. The Lyons lost 5-2 to the Christian County Colonels (5-11-3) at the Stadium of Champions, before earning a 1-1 home draw with Union County (1-11-1). The Lyons’ week ended with a 3-1 loss to Hopkins County Central (8-6-1) in Eddyville. The only remaining game for the Lyons is a home match with winless Ballard Memorial.
12. Union County Braves (1-11-1)
The Braves remain at the bottom of the rankings after 2 losses and a draw last week. Fort Campbell (3-8-1) beat the Braves 5-4 in Morganfield, before UHA (9-6-2) came to town and blanked the Braves 10-0. Union showed some life to end the week, traveling to Eddyville and earning a 1-1 draw with Lyon County (7-8-1). The Braves will be busy in the last week of the regular season, going on the road for 3 matches. A trip to Owensboro Catholic (5-10-2) on Monday, before going to Butler Stadium on Tuesday to face the 7-8-1 Caldwell County Tigers. Their last match before postseason play is a trip to Hopkinsville to play UHA (9-6-2) at Givens Field.
