It was a matchup of two teams who are in far different places than they were one year ago, with one of the two attaining history Friday night with a 34-6 win. Logan County and Todd County Central combined for one win between them last season, and that win for Logan County came when they played each other.

Friday night, the Cougars again came out on top, but this are much different this year. Logan County has completed a 10-0 regular season. And, the Todd Central Rebels have won six games, which is six more than they won last season, and they are headed into the Class 2A playoffs.

After the two teams battled to a scoreless tie deep into the second quarter, Logan County took control of the game in the final three minutes of the first half. Gary Hardy scored on a 8-yard touchdown run with just under 2 minutes to go in the first half to give the Cougars a 6-0 lead. After a successful onside kick, Hardy score from 5 yards out to give Logan County a 12-0 halftime lead.

The Cougars extended the lead to 19-0 with just over 7 minutes to go in the third quarter on a five yard touchdown run from Carson Bradley.

Todd County Central finally got on the board early in the 4th quarter when MarQureim Mimms broke off a 78-yard touchdown run to cut the lead to 19-7. However, a comeback for Todd Central was not in the cards as Logan County got 4th quarter touchdowns from Joseph Peterson and Curtis Shelton for the final 34-6 margin.

Logan County wraps up the regular season at 10-0 and will host Warren Central next week in the Class 4A playoffs. Todd County Central drops to 6-4. The Rebels will travel to Mayfield next Friday to battle the Cardinals in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs.
