PREVIEW – Todd County Rebel Basketball

Todd County Central believes they have the pieces in place to make a run at a 13th District boys’ basketball title this year. The Rebels open their season Friday against Kenwood, TN.

Todd County hasn’t had a winning season since 2004, but returns guard Nolan Barrow, who is the top returning scorer in the district at 13.9 points per game. He hit 51-percent of his shots from the field, including 45-percent from 3-point range.

Joining Barrow in the backcourt are senior Tashaun Foster (8.9 ppg., 2.0 reb.) and junior Clayte Weathers (6.6 ppg., 1.6 reb.).

Big man John Calvery compliments the guards on the inside. Calvery scored 10.1 points and brought down 5.2 rebounds a game last year.

Another big man who will see some time in the middle is Colin Sharp, who averaged two points and two rebounds a year ago.

Second year Head Coach Frank Johnson has some other players he will look to throughout the season to provide depth.

The Rebels play their first three games away from Elkton before returning home for a district doubleheader with Russellville on Dec. 8.
