The Todd County Central boys’ basketball team kicked off its post-Christmas schedule at the South Central Bank-Halton Classic on Thursday, winning 59-50 in overtime over hosts Allen County-Scottsville.  The Rebels now stand at 7-4 on the season.

Allen County-Scottsville led 31-28 at the half, due in large part to five first-half threes from junior guard Brett Kippy.  Senior guard Nolan Barrow and junior center Jon Calvery both had 7 at the break for Todd County, and junior guard Clayte Weathers scored 5.

The third quarter was low-scoring, with the Rebels outscoring the Patriots 8-5 to tie the game at 36 going into the fourth quarter.  Both teams would score 12 in the fourth quarter, with Barrow getting 7 for the Rebels, and the game headed to overtime at 48-48.

The Rebels clamped down defensively in the extra period, holding the Patriots to 2 points on their way to a 59-50 win.  Weathers and senior guard Tashaun Foster both had 3 points to lead the way in overtime.

Barrow had 16 to pace Todd County, with Weathers the only other Rebel in double figures with 11.  Sophomore guard Austin Rager and Calvery both had 9, followed by senior center Collin Sharp with 6, and Foster with 5.  Junior forward Sydney Johnson had a basket, and sophomore guard Kimahri Briggs had a point.

The Rebels return to the court on Friday against 8-4 Warren East, winners of 8 of their last 9.
