VIDEO – Rebels Down Franklin-Simpson to Sit Atop District

Todd County Central beat Franklin-Simpson 67-48 Friday and moved into a first place tie atop the 13th District standings. The Rebels used strong second and third quarters to gradually pull away from Franklin-Simpson in Elkton.

Todd led by just two points after the first quarter but extended it to 31-24 at halftime and led 49-33 after three quarters.

Nolan Barrow scored 23 points in just three quarters for the Rebels, including four of the team’s seven 3-pointers. Tashaun Foster joined Barrow in double figures with 14 points, and Jon Calvery added nine points and 14 rebounds.

Kyler Pritchett led Franklin-Simpson (5-10, 1-1) with 12 points.

The win moved Todd County Central to 8-6 overall and 2-1 in the district. Logan County, who edged Russellville 68-64 Friday, joins the Rebels with a 2-1 district mark.

Todd County returns to action today against Calloway County.
