VIDEO – Rebels Hold Off Cumberland County for All-A Win

Todd County Central used a 12-0 run to end the first half to seize a lead and then held off Cumberland County 72-64 to win their first round game of the Fourth Region All-A Classic Thursday in Elkton.

Tashaun Foster scored seven of his 11 points in the second quarter as the Rebels outscored Cumberland County 17-5 to take a 31-19 lead into halftime.

In the second half, Nolan Barrow and Jon Calvery combined to score 28 of Todd County’s 41 points. Calvery scored 14 of his 17 points in the second half and finished with eight rebounds. Barrow scored 11 points in the fourth quarter, including 8-of-8 at the free throw line. He led the Rebels with nine rebounds.

As a team, Todd County Central knocked down 21-of-29 free throws in the contest.

Dawson Smith kept Cumberland County (4-14) in the game with 33 points, including 15 in the third quarter.

Todd County improved to 10-7 on the season – their first 10-win season since 2009. Their last winning season came in 2004.

The Rebels will play at Clinton County in the All-A Region semifinals Saturday evening.
