The Fort Campbell Falcons baseball team has only collected five wins over the last two seasons, with last year’s campaign ending with a 10-0 loss to Christian County in the opening round of the 5th District tournament, and a record of 2-23.

Coach Richard Deardorff enters his first season in charge with a team that returns five starters, after three seniors graduated.  Sophomores, CF/RHP Tyler MacKay, 3B Nathan Lake, C/RHP Andrew Syester, and RHP/SS Ahmon Williams will be joined by junior RHP/UTIL Eli Crockett to form the Falcons’ nucleus.  Deardorff says the Falcons are extremely young, with twelve underclassmen and four middle school players out of the seventeen total.  The Falcons’ three seniors, right-fielder Arthur Burgoyne, right-fielder Denzel Mungin, and 2B/RHP Ryan Sollom will look to provide leadership for their inexperienced teammates.

The Falcons open the season on Tuesday with an 8th District meeting with the visiting University Heights Academy Blazers.
