Hopkins County Central scored twice in the ninth inning to hand Todd County Central a 10-8 setback Monday in Elkton.
The Lady Storm trailed 7-5 after five innings but plated three runs in the sixth to take an 8-7 lead. Todd answered with a run in their half of the sixth to knot the game at 8-8. Hopkins Central scored two in the seventh for the winning margin.
Birthday girl Whitney Higgins had a double and four RBIs for the Lady Rebels, while Michaela Robertson had three hits and scored three runs. Emma Harris, Samantha Case, and Rachel Bilyeau all had singles for Todd.
Brenna Sherman smacked a home run as part of a two-hit, two-RBI night for Hopkins County Central (2-1). Madison Grigg had a single, two doubles, and a triple, and Chloe Young added a single and double.
Haylee Vass struck out three for the Lady Rebels in the circle.
Todd County Central (1-2) returns to action Tuesday when they host Franklin-Simpson in a 13th District matchup in Elkton.
