UHA Lady Blazers Roll to First Win of the Season

The UHA Lady Blazers picked up their first win of the softball season Friday evening in an 8th District matchup against Fort Campbell. UHA scored 20 runs in the first two innings on their way to a 20-5 win over the Lady Falcons.

UHA took advantage of four walks, three hit batters, and three Fort Campbell errors to score 12 runs in the top of the first inning.

The Lady Blazers added eight more runs in the top of the second inning. Continued pitching struggles and fielding mistake were a problem for Fort Campbell, as the Lady Falcons gave up five walks and three hit batters, while committing another error in the inning. The big hit in the inning came from Rachael Snyder, who hit a bases loaded triple to drive in three runs.

In the bottom of the third inning, the Lady Falcons scored their first runs in more than seven games, as they plated five runs in the inning. The big shot came from Zoe Loveall, who cleared the bases with a three run triple.

Rachael Snyder led the way for UHA, going 3-4 with 4 RBIs. Brianna Daniel went 1-2 and drove in two runs. Zoe Loveall was 1-3 in the game for Fort Campbell and drove in three runs.

Regan Pollard went the distance for UHA, giving up five runs on three hits, striking out six while walking one.
