After having an eight-game win streak snapped by the Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons on Tuesday, junior Bryar Riley went six strong innings on Thursday to help the Tigers get revenge on the Maroons 6-2.  The Tigers move to 13-3 on the year, 3-1 in 7th District play, dropping the Maroons to 1-1 and 7-4 overall.

The Tigers took the lead in the bottom of the first inning on an RBI single by senior Dylan Gray, and added 2 more in their half of the second on consecutive RBI doubles by seniors Ty Ramey and Noah Brown.

Madisonville got one back in the top of the third, but Riley shut them down over the next three frames.  Caldwell got on the board again in the fifth on a RBI sacrifice fly from senior Bryce Thomas, with senior Jase Ryan Felker wrapping-up the Tiger scoring with a double to plate Brown and junior Gabe East.

Riley earned the win with six innings of work, allowing 1 unearned run on seven hits with three strike-outs and three walks.  Sophomore Jon Hogart took the loss for the Maroons, going 5.2 innings and yielding 6 earned runs on ten hits, striking-out four and walking four.

Gray was 3-3 with an RBI to lead the Tiger attack, followed by Felker with a hit and 2 RBI.  Brown had a couple of hits with an RBI, and Thomas and Ramey had a hit and an RBI each.  East and freshman Tate Van Hooser each got a hit.

Next up for Caldwell is a visit from the 7-6 Union County Braves on Friday.
