Wildcats Fall to Calloway County 2-0

One day after scoring 10 runs in a win over Muhlenberg County, Trigg County’s bats weren’t nearly productive in a 3-0 loss to Calloway County Friday in the Town and County Classic at Christian County. It was the first time in six years the Wildcats were shut out the day after scoring 10 runs.

The Wildcats managed only three hits in the game – a single and double by Micah Brown and a single by Andrew Williamson. Trigg did have their opportunities with baserunners in the contest but stranded seven runners.

Calloway County scored in the second inning on a double by Carson Chapman and an RBI single by Jonathan Kuykendall.

Tyce Stalls led off the third inning with a solo home run over the right field fence for Calloway’s other run.

Jake Terrell (2-1) took the loss for Trigg, allowing four hits and two earned runs in three innings. Arlon Butts was effective in relief, throwing four innings of two-hit baseball. He walked three and struck out five.

Garrett Scott allowed two hits and struck out six for Calloway County (6-5), who have won five straight games.

Trigg County (8-4) travels to Carlisle County Saturday.
