Colonels Stay Hot in Win at Madisonville

5-9-silvy

Christian County jumped out to an early lead and their pitching made it stand up in a 6-4 win at Madisonville Tuesday. The Colonels are playing some of their best baseball of the season with a four-game winning streak and a 9-1 record against region teams.

Lane Diuguid had an RBI single in the first inning and added a two-run double as part of a five-run second inning that helped stake the Colonels to their early lead. Diuguid had three hits and three runs knocked in on the day.

Diuguid also pitched two innings of scoreless relief on the mound. Eric Silvy got the win and survived a home run by Gunner Dameron. Austin Fields threw a scoreless seventh inning for the save.

Dameron and Jonathon Hogart both had two hits for Madisonville (15-9).

Christian County (13-10), winners of eight of their last nine games, will host Muhlenberg County Thursday.
