A former Hopkinsville Tiger has been assigned to the northeast for the minor league baseball season. Easton McGee has been designated by the Tampa Bay Rays to the Hudson Valley Renegades.

The Renegades are the Class A Short Season affiliate of the Rays, who drafted McGee in the 4th round of the 2016 MLB Draft. With the move, McGee becomes the youngest player on the Renegades roster for the 2018 season.

The Renegades are a young team from top to bottom. In fact, their new manager, Blake Butera, is the youngest manager in all of professional baseball. The oldest player on the roster is 24 years old.

The team is a member of the New York–Penn League, and play at Dutchess Stadium in Wappingers Falls, New York. Their season opens Friday on the road at Aberdeen, Maryland, against the Aberdeen, IronBirds.
