Lady Tigers Finish Colorado Trip with Lady Sluggers Premiere

Three Caldwell County Lady Tigers and their Louisville Lady Sluggers Premiere-JB team finished up their trip to Colorado going 1-2 over the weekend. The Lady Sluggers picked up a win over Louisville Sluggers Swiderski, while dropping contests to teams from California and Texas.

Friday morning, the Lady Sluggers dropped an 8-0 decision to Texas Bombers Gold 16U. In that contest, Mashea Glover was 1-2 with a double. Emma Staples and Katie Franklin each went 0-2. Franklin went 4 innings in the circle, giving up 7 runs, only four of them earned, on 8 hits, striking out two and walking one.

Later in the day Friday, the Lady Sluggers picked up a hard fought 8-7 win over the Louisville Sluggers Swiderski. Katie Franklin had a big day in the game, going 3-4 with 2 RBIs, and reached on an error that ended the game. Emma Staples was 1-3 with a double, two RBI’s, and two runs scored. Mashea Glover ended up going 2-4 with a double, two runs scored, and an RBI.

The Lady Sluggers Premiere wrapped up their Colorado trip Saturday dropping a 12-5 game to the Cal Cruisers-Sievers/Garcia. Emma Staples went 2-3 with a home run, three runs scored, and an RBI. Mashea Glover was 1-3 with a triple, a run scored, and an RBI. Katie Franklin was 0-2 in the contest. In the circle, Franklin worked 3 1/3 innings, giving up 8 runs, only five of which were earned, on six hits.
