Trigg County Finishes Fourth at the Best of the West

Marshall County’s Jay Nimmo shot a 1-under 71 to win the Best of the West Golf Invitational Friday at Boots Randolph Golf Course at Lake Barkley State Park.

The Marshall County sophomore edged Mayfield senior Husten Lancaster by one shot for the individual title. It was the second straight year Nimmo won the Best of the West, which was held at Mineral Mound State Park last year.

Trigg County finished fourth as a team, led by Grayson Thomas who shot a 79. Hunter Reynolds shot an 80, followed by Caleb Federspiel (85) and Darrin Goodwin (86).

Bowling Green won the team title with 310 points, four shots better than Marshall County and 14 better than Greenwood. Trigg tallied a team score of 330.  Collier Curd and Clark McDougal paced Bowling Green with scores of 74, tying them for third place overall.

Camdyn McLeod was Marshall County’s second golfer on the day with a score of 77.

T-Roy Ringstaff shot an 87 to lead Livingston Central. Tate Roberts shot an 84 to pace the Crittenden County golfers, and Trey Blanchard shot a 110 to lead Dawson Springs.
