Wildcats Drop Two Halves of Final Scrimmage

Trigg County tuned up for the 2018 football season with a pair of 24-minute scrimmages Friday. The Wildcats lost to host Logan County 41-6 and dropped the nightcap 7-6 to Ohio County.

Logan County, who finished 11-1 last year and have several starters back, outgained Trigg 258-73 in the contest and held the Wildcats to minus-five yards rushing.

Cam Jordan was 6-of-10 passing for 78 yards and scored the only TD for the Wildcats on a QB sneak late in the half. Jakobe Bridges caught three passes for 53 yards.

Logan County quarterback Tyler Ezell was 6-of-6 passing for 79 yards and two touchdowns and added 52 yards and a score on the ground.

In the nightcap, Trigg County had two drive-killing turnovers and lost to Ohio County 7-6. The Eagles were 7-4 last year. Bridges scored Trigg’s lone touchdown on a QB sneak.

Trigg County, who was 5-6 last year, will open their season Friday against Monroe County in the Scottie Bowl in Glasgow. The Falcons beat Trigg 37-19 in last year’s game.
