Todd County Central scored early and often and extended Caverna’s losing streak to 28 straight games with a 49-0 win Friday in Cave City.

Jaquavion Mimms had another big night for the Rebels, rushing for a pair of scores including the first of the game that gave Todd an early 7-0 lead.

Kimahri Briggs picked off a Caverna pass that set up Todd County’s second score, a short run by quarterback Bryce Nolan that put the Rebels up 14-0.

Nolan connected with D.J. Johnson for a touchdown pass that put the Rebels up 21-0 at the end of the first quarter.

The Rebels’ defense got into the act when Jayden Marshall recovered a fumble in the end zone to put the Rebels ahead 28-0.

Todd County closed out their first half scoring when Nolan and Johnson again hooked up through the air on a 20-yard pass play that put the Rebels ahead 35-0 which is where the score stood at halftime.

Mimms scored on a 10-yard run, and Young added an 8-yard run in the second half for the final 49-point margin – the largest in a Rebel win since a 59-8 win over McLean County in 2004.

Caverna’s last win came in 2015 against Fort Knox.

Todd County Central (2-1) will travel to Morton’s Gap next week to face a 2-1 Hopkins County Central team that lost to Muhlenberg County 14-6 Friday.
