Lady Wildcats Win Calloway Laker Invitational

Trigg County placed five runners in the top 20 and took first place Saturday at the Calloway County Invitational in Murray.

Lexi Ricks led the Lady Wildcats across the line in fifth place with a time of 23:17 over the 3.1-mile course. Stewart County’s Samantha Anderson won the race in a time of 22:09.

DeDe Barbee was second for Trigg County with a ninth place finish in 23:57. She was followed by Livi Ricks (12th, 24:09); Grace Hill (14th, 24:32); and Phelan Dossett (19th, 25:05) in the top 20.

Breeanna Barnes (26:37) was 26th as the Lady Wildcats totaled 33 points and beat McCracken County (48) and Calloway County (54).

For the guys, Ethan Futrell led Trigg County with an 18th place finish in 19:24. Apolo Blackbear-Francis was 22nd in 19:59, and Tyler Freeman (20:22) was 26th. University Heights Academy’s Tomas Duncan won the race in a time of 16:46.

In the middle school girls’ race, Trinity Cavanaugh led the Lady Wildcats with a 22nd place finish in 11:51, followed by Reese Bush who was 29th.

Austin Cavanaugh (sixth) and Riley Thompson (11th) led the middle school boys’ contingent for Trigg County.

Trigg County is scheduled to run Saturday in the St. Mary Invitational at Noble Park.
