Late Score Sends Falcons Past Owensboro Catholic

9-9-falcons

Jhony Paniagua scored twice and Jared Mandaus added the game-winner with four minutes left to give Fort Campbell a 3-2 win over Owensboro Catholic Saturday.

Paniagua scored the game’s first goal on a penalty kick, but the Aces (3-7) responded with two goals for a 2-1 lead. Paniagua headed home the game-tying goal in the second half.

With four minutes left, Mandaus got loose behind the Aces’ defense and scored the game-winner.

Fort Campbell snapped a five-match winless streak and improved to 2-6-1. They now have a scheduling oddity as they will not play another match until Sept. 22 at Webster County. Falcon Coach Michael Massie said the gap was part of the schedule he inherited when he took the job over the summer.
