If Caldwell County volleyball head coach Daniel Cortner was concerned about his team overlooking UHA Tuesday night with a match coming up with Henderson County Thursday night, those concerns were alleviated quickly Tuesday night. The Lady Tigers rolled to a sweep of the UHA Lady Blazers in a match played at the CAB at Caldwell County High School.

Caldwell County opened quickly, scoring the first five points of the first set. The Lady Tigers would lead by as many as ten points in the opening set before holding on for the 25-18 win. Abby Griggs and Sheadon Allen both had big sets for Caldwell County with five kills each. Meghan Adams battled to keep UHA in the set with seven kills.

In the second set, Caldwell County again opened strong, jumping out to an 8-1 lead. The lead would reach as many as 8 points, with the Lady Tigers eventually winning the set 25-18. Sheadon Allen had another great set for Caldwell County with five kills. Olivia Mitchell added four.

UHA tried to rally and make a match of it in the third set. The Lady Blazers controlled much of the set and were up 18-17 when Caldwell County went on a 7-2 run to go up 24-20. The Lady Blazers fought off three match points before Caldwell County was finally able to close out the match with a 25-23 win in the 3rd set. Olivia Mitchell paced the Lady Tigers with five kills in the final set. Meghan Adams had another big set for UHA with four more kills.

The win improves Caldwell County to 17-8 on the season, while the Lady Blazers drop to 18-11.
