Caldwell County and Henderson County have combined to win 10 of the last 11 region volleyball championships so Thursday’s regular season contest had a bit of a postseason feel to it.
The Lady Tigers used strong net play to beat Henderson County 3-1 (25-17, 25-20, 18-25, 26-24).
Caldwell County improved to 18-8 on the season, including 11-0 against Second Region opposition. The Lady Tigers have won 28 straight regular season matches against region teams dating back to 2016.
Henderson County dropped to 18-10 and have lost two games to region teams in the same season for the first time since 2010. The Lady Colonels lost to University Heights Aug. 18 in the Apollo Summer Slam.
Caldwell County will play in the Western Kentucky Smackdown this weekend in Hopkinsville.
