The Lyon County Lady Lyons have been among the area’s hottest teams coming down the stretch of the 2018 soccer season. The Lady Lyons won for the 9th time in a row on Senior Night Thursday night, defeating Union County 7-0 at Lee S. Jones Park.
Two Lady Lyons finished with hat tricks in the match. Rose Smith and Leah Schroeder each had three goals on the evening for Lyon County.
Lyon County jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead on two goals by Schroeder and one goal from Smith.
The Lady Lyons would add four more goals in the second forty minutes. Schroeder scored one more, Rose Smith added two, and Mia Myers added one for Lyon County.
Myers, Schroeder, Destiny Dycus, and Emily Smith assisted on goals for the Lady Lyons.
Lyon County improves to 11-3 on the season. The Lady Lyons will return to action Tuesday in the 5th District tournament against either Trigg County or Crittenden County.
