You can’t pack much more onto a student schedule than Fort Campbell’s Rafael Cerritos does. The Falcon junior just wrapped up his soccer season this week in the district tournament.

Cerritos has been at Fort Campbell for three years after his family lived in Germany. He said it was there that he began playing soccer and fell in love with the sport.

Now, he moves from achievements on the soccer field to achievements at Fort Campbell.

Cerritos is a member of the Boy Scouts and is working toward his Eagle Scout rank, the highest rank attainable in the scouting program. In addition to earning at least 21 merit badges, Cerritos has planned and implemented his service project. He has built bat boxes, similar to bird houses, to assist an endangered species of bat that nests on post.

In addition to his athletic endeavors, Cerritos is a member of the National Honor Society.
