Three Tigers Receive Soccer All State Recognition

When you reach the final four of the state soccer tournament, you can usually expect some season honors for the members of your team. The Kentucky High School Soccer Coaches Association has released its All State teams, with three Hopkinsville Tigers being included among the selections.

Hopkinsville’s Ryan Roussel was named to the West First Team All State. His teammate, Zach Moore was named to the West Second Team All State, while Mason Rye was selected as All State Honorable Mention.

In addition to the Tigers, Henderson County placed two players on the all-state team.  Max Wawrin was named to the West First Team, and Sam Cloutier was named All State Honorable Mention.

Calloway County’s Jacob Smith was named to the West Second Team All State team, while Marshall County’s Daniel Gardner was also named Second Team All State.

Former Lyon County player, Bryson Penn, who transferred to Marshall County before the season, was also named to the Honorable Mention list.

Hopkinsville plays again Thursday night in the semifinal round of the boys state tournament against Highlands.
