It was much of what you would expect in a preseason scrimmage. The Christian County Colonels, in stretches, exhibited the potential they have for the upcoming basketball season. At other times, there were signs of work still to be done for the Colonels.

Christian County and Bowling Green matched up Tuesday night for a scrimmage at Colonel Gym. The Colonels got the better of things in the opening two quarters of the scrimmage, winning 16-13 and 18-10.

After a break for 15 minutes of JV action, it was the Purples who had the better performance over the final two quarters, winning 14-11 and 22-12. Total for the night, Bowling Green edged out Christian County 59-57.

Eric Brody had a solid performance for the Colonels, scoring 26 points over the four quarters, including hitting four 3-point shots. Fred Tandy added 10 points, while Damikeon Mathis had 9 points.

During the course of the scrimmage, Christian County looked far more comfortable in an uptempo style of play, while struggling at times to get into an offensive flow in half court sets.

Christian County will have their final preseason scrimmage Saturday, as they travel to the Owensboro Sportscenter to go up against Daviess County. The Colonels will officially open the season December 1st.
