Caldwell Has Two Wrestlers Ranked in Preseason Top 10

Caldwell County, who finished in the top-20 at the state wrestling tournament for the first time in 16 years, is ranked 34th in the preseason by kentuckywrestling.com.

Dylan Walls, who won the 106-pound region title and finished seventh at state, makes the move up to 113 pounds where he is ranked eighth in the state and second in the preseason region rankings.

Seth Slayton, who finished second in the region last year in the 152-pound class, moves up to 170 pounds. He is ranked eighth in the state and third in the region.

John Paredes, who was sixth in the region at 170 pounds last year, is ranked 11th in the 160-pound class and third in region.

Tristan Tinsley finished fourth at region in the 145-pound class. He is ranked 25th in the state and fourth in region.

James Jones, who finished fourth in the 113-pound division at region last year, is ranked 23rd in the 120-pound class and sixth in region.

Riley Johnson is ranked 19th in the 106-pound class and second in region.

Defending state champion Union County is ranked first in the statewide preseason rankings. Christian County is ranked fourth, followed by McCracken County (16th), Trigg County (32nd), Caldwell County (34th), and Fort Campbell (36th).

Caldwell County opens their 2018 wrestling season Saturday at the West Creek Invitational in Clarksville.
