Lady Rebels Fall at Clarksville Academy

The Todd County girls’ basketball team went on the road for the second straight night on Tuesday, falling 53-30 to Clarksville Academy after opening the season with a win over McLean County last night.

The Lady Rebels were within 5 points after a low-scoring first quarter, with both teams picking up the pace in the second frame.  The Lady Cougars outscored Todd County 16-10 to take a 25-14 lead into the halftime break.  Amy Brumfield scored 5 first-half points to lead the Lady Rebels, while Vana Pridgen’s 7 points led the Lady Cougars.

Todd County came out of the locker room cold, only managing 4 third-quarter points while Clarksville Academy posted its highest-scoring quarter at 18.  The Lady Rebels outscored the Lady Cougars 12-10 over the final 8:00 minutes for the final 23-point margin.

Ashley Roberts and Sydneey Boykin paced the Lady Cougars in the second half with 14 and 7 points, respectively.  Roberts finished with a team-high 18, with Boykin following with 11 to go with 6 rebounds and 4 assists.

Brumfield scored 10 second-half points to finish with 15 for Todd County, while also pulling down 6 rebounds.  Eliza Simons scored 7, and Kinley Reding had 4.

Todd County returns to the court on Saturday when they meet Bullitt East (1-0) in the Independence Bank Classic at Owensboro Catholic.
