Madisonville Runs Past Lady Wildcats 69-40

Madisonville’s size and length were too much for Trigg County to overcome in a 69-40 loss to the Lady Maroons Saturday afternoon at the Messenger Tipoff Classic.

The Lady Maroons used an 11-0 first quarter run and a 12-1 second quarter run to take command of the matinee contest in Madisonville.

Madisonville scored 25 points off 24 Trigg turnovers in building their lead to as many as 30 points in the second half.

Rylee Bush led Trigg County with 14 points and nine rebounds, while Katelyn Slone hit three of Trigg’s six 3-pointers on the afternoon and scored nine points. Emily Noffsinger added eight.

One night after scoring 31 points in a win over Dawson Springs, Courtney Peyton scored 19 points to lead the Lady Maroons. Cameron Lagrange scored 12 points and grabbed 15 rebounds.

The loss was Trigg County’s 21st in 22 career meetings with Madisonville. Their only win over the Lady Maroons came in 1989.

Madisonville improves to 4-0 on the season with the win. Trigg County drops to 2-5 and will play at Community Christian Tuesday.
