Jakobe Bridges has always been good at both football and basketball. His mixture of speed and quickness and the knack for being in the right place at the right time has paid off at key times for Trigg County on both the gridiron and hardwood.
Bridges just wrapped up a junior season that saw him named All Western Kentucky Conference as a receiver. He totaled 19 touchdowns and grabbed 48 passes for 738 yards. With his senior season ahead of him, Bridges ranks sixth in career receiving yards (1,145) and second in touchdowns (16). He needs 14 catches next year to set the career receiving mark for the Wildcats.
Before then, he has basketball business to take care of where he leads the Wildcats in 3-point shooting and is second in assists.
Further down the road, the former Cub Scout is looking at a career in dentistry.
