Lady Blazers Roll Past Fort Campbell

An 11-0 run to start the game would be all the University Heights Academy girls’ basketball team would need in a 55-14 victory over visiting Fort Campbell on Saturday night.  The Lady Blazers move to 5-3 overall, and even their record at 1-1 in 8th-District play.  The Lady Falcons slip to 0-10, 0-1 in the district.

Alex Juckett got the Lady Blazers off to a quick start with 9 first-quarter points, helping them to a 18-2 advantage.  Lily Hendricks scored 4 of her game-high 12 in the second quarter, and UHA led 26-4 at the halftime break.

Hendricks and Shiaya Forte each scored 4 in the third, and the Lady Blazers led 49-14.  The teams combined for only 6 points in the final 8 minutes for the final 41-point margin.

Juckett joined Hendricks in double figures with 11 for UHA, followed by Forte with 8.

Lilliauna Powers led the Lady Falcons with 6, and Asia Cabill scored 4.

Both teams return to the court on Tuesday, with UHA traveling to Dawson Springs (3-4) and Fort Campbell going on the road to face Hopkinsville (6-1).
