A former Caldwell County basketball standout is closing in on a milestone at Lipscomb University. Eli Pepper, a 6-foot-8 senior forward, is just 13 rebounds shy of becoming Lipcomb’s all-time leading rebounder in the program’s NCAA era. Adnan Hodzic currently holds the Bisons mark with 840 career rebounds.

Lipscomb, a former NAIA institution, played its first full NCAA schedule in the 2001-02 season.

Pepper, who is second on Caldwell’s all-time rebounding list with 1,172 boards and is seventh on the Tigers’ career scoring list with 1,307 points, scored eight points and grabbed eight rebounds in Lipscomb’s loss at Clemson on Sunday.

Pepper is a four-year starter for the Bisons.

Lipscomb (9-4) opens A-SUN Conference play this Saturday on the road at Jacksonville. The Bisons and Dolphins will get things going at 5 p.m. inside historic Swisher Gymnasium on ESPN+.
