2018 did not end the way Markus Green wanted it to. The Christian County senior was on his way to qualifying for the state wrestling tournament when a knee injury late in the region tourney forced him to withdraw. The diagnosis was a torn ACL. Both his junior season on the mat and his senior season in football were over.

Green has worked his way back to the mat. He competes in the 285-pound class and is ranked 16th in the state by Kentuckywrestling.com in the weight division. He is also ranked second in the region, giving him a shot at winning a region title and making a trip to the state tourney that he missed last year.

So far in the first month of the 2018-19 season, Green has finished in the points each match – a second place, a third, two fourths, and a sixth place finish.

Green talked about his comeback with YourSportsEdge.com and the goals he has set for himself over the final two weeks of the season.
