Todd County Boys Fall at Logan County, 73-60

In the second game of Friday night’s doubleheader, the Todd County Central boys met the same fate as the girls’ team. The Rebels were defeated by the Logan County Cougars, 73-60, shortly after the Lady Rebels fell to the Lady Cougars (73-36).

The loss couldn’t prevent John Calvery from dominating, though, as he netted 27 points to be recognized as the contest’s highest scorer. Clayte Weathers was the only other Rebel to reach double-figure scoring, adding 13 points.

For the Cougars, they saw three players score more than a dozen. Sophomore Anthony Woodard, who played at fellow 13th District rival Russellville last year, came close to matching Todd County’s Calvery, scoring 23 in the win. Fellow Cougars Tommy Krohn (16) and Kelby Epley (15) also contributed to the winning effort.

Todd County’s fifth-consecutive loss moves them to 5-14 on the season, while Logan County improves to 14-2 for the year.

Todd County will play either Russellville or Cumberland County Thursday at 6pm in the Fourth Region All-A Classic in Elkton.
