Lyon County opened the game with a 13-0 run and withstood every run Fort Campbell could throw at it. An 11-0 run in the fourth quarter helped Lyon put the finishing touches on a 65-44 victory Saturday night at Jason White Gymnasium in Eddyville.

Travis Perry hit four 3-pointers and scored a game-high 23 points for the Lyons while Gabe Board and Jackson Shoulders added 15 points apiece.

Lyon (11-6) has won three straight games and five of its last six as it prepares for the 2nd Region All ‘A’ Classic next week.

Fort Campbell (5-8) got 15 points from Cameron Johnson, but the Falcons struggled from the field. Fort Campbell made just 16 of 51 field goal attempts for 31.4 percent. That includes a 3-for-20 showing from 3-point range.

Still, Fort Campbell tried to rally from its early deficit a couple of times.

The Falcons twice got as close as four points in the second quarter — at 22-18 and 24-20.

But 3-pointers by Kade Blackburn and Board helped Lyon open up a 32-22 margin at halftime.

The Lyons led by as much as 15 points early in the second half.

Fort Campbell got to within 10 when a 3-pointer by Cameron Pratt made it 41-31 midway through the third quarter.

But that’s as close as the Falcons could get.

The Lyons will next host Crittenden County Tuesday night in a first round game in the regional Class A tournament. With a win, Lyon would advance to the semifinals where it would face University Heights Academy on Friday.

Fort Campbell will also play in the regional All ‘A’ tournament on Tuesday, hosting Dawson Springs in a first round contest. The winner there will face Livingston Central in the semifinals.

The semis and championship will be played at Dawson Springs.
