Three area football players, along with one head coach, are among those who have been selected to take part in a high school football all-star event this weekend in Tennessee. The 2019 Food City Border Bowl will be played Saturday in Sevierville, at Sevier County High School.

This year’s first game of the day will feature the Kentucky-All Stars taking on the North Carolina All-Stars at 12:30 pm.  The Georgia All-Stars will battle it out with the Tennessee All-Stars at 3:30 pm. The Food City Border Bowl was started as a non-profit organization established to promote high school football in Kentucky and Tennessee, and in recent years has expanded to include outstanding student athletes from Georgia and North Carolina as well.

Among those selected to be on the Kentucky team were Trel Riley, of Caldwell County, Antonio Abren, of Christian County, and Ellis Dunn, of Hopkinsville. Additionally, Christian County head coach Steve Lovelace has been selected to serve as an assistant coach for the Kentucky team.
