Livingston Back in All A Title Game With Win Over Dawson (w/PHOTOS)

Livingston Central punched its ticket to the 2nd Region All ‘A’ Classic championship game with a 73-59 victory over host Dawson Springs on Friday night. The Cardinals had to survive some shaky free throw shooting to hold off rally attemts from the Panthers.

Livingston trailed only once in the contest, at the very beginning of the first quarter. The Cardinals would lead 24-12 after one. Dawson Springs battled back and cut the lead to 37-30 at the half.

The Cardinal lead would be eight points at 52-44 after the third quarter. Dawson Springs would get as close as four in the final quarter, but, after their early 4th quarter free throw issues, the Cardinals knocked them down in the final couple of minutes to pull out to the 14 point win.

All five starters for Livingston Central reached double figures in the contest. Bryce Stein had a big night for the Cardinals with 20 points and 15 rebounds. T-Roy Ringstaff added 19 points. Cameron Head had 12, Max Downey 11, and Steven Mayhugh totalled 10.

Sophomore Landon Pace led the attack for Dawson Springs with 25 points

The Cardinals will try to upset University Heights in the regional championship game Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. The teams met in last year’s All A regional title game, with the Blazers coming away with the 78-62 win at Crittenden County.
