Trigg County used a 16-0 run to start the game and coasted to a 57-31 win over Community Christian Saturday to snap an eight-game losing streak.

Community Christian scored the game’s first bucket before Trigg responded with the next 16 points. Even with the early 14-point advantage, it wouldn’t be until the fourth quarter when Trigg County could extend their lead past 20 points.

The Wildcats, who have struggled offensively in recent weeks, put the game away by scoring the first 10 points of the fourth quarter. They put up 62 shots and hit 38-percent for the game – both above their season average.

The Wildcats had four players reach double figures in the scoring column. Jakobe Bridges scored 13 points, while Kyron Grubbs, Kendric Adams, and Khyran Vaughn each scored 10 points. Vaughn just missed a double-double with nine rebounds.

Community Christian (6-11) got 12 points and eight rebounds from Elijah Middleton.

Trigg County (7-13) will host Caldwell County Tuesday.
