The UHA girls’ basketball team failed to break double figures in the first and third quarters of Tuesday night’s road meeting with Russellville, and while the Lady Blazers outscored the Lady Panthers over the second and fourth, they couldn’t dig out of the hole in a 47-32 loss.

The Lady Blazers have dropped five-straight since claiming the 2nd Region All-A title to stand at 12-11 overall.  Russellville wins its third in four tries to move to 17-7 on the year.

The Lady Blazers only managed 4 first-quarter points and trailed by 10 going into the second quarter.  UHA bounced back to outscore the Lady Panthers 10-9 in the second, but trailed 23-14 at the halftime break.

Brianna Daniel scored 6 points on two 3-pointers, but the Lady Blazers could only manage 2 more points in the third quarter, and Russellville built the advantage to 15 with 8 minutes to play.

Lily Hendricks scored 6 of her team-high 11 for the Lady Blazers in the fourth quarter, but they couldn’t cut into the 15-point Russellville lead.

A couple of 8th graders did the damage for the Lady Panthers, with both Amiyah Collier and Brinley Mason finishing with 12 points.
